The people at Bight also wanted to see samples of my 2d art; which I should have more of on here anyway. Below you'll see several character concepts, one of which you may recognize as the Mitts, the mafia goon model several posts below, sans texture detail. Enjoy!

New Character
design improvements
Sometimes errors you stare at for too long fail to stand out. As such, after a good night's rest and some helpful critique from my friend and former classmate Danica, I decided Rocket Girl's (name pending) face was disproportionate and too masculine. Below is a slight modification, as well as some wireframe shots.
(The boundaries of the task were five days, 6000 polygons, and a texture resolution of 1024x1024. Final polygon count was 5944)

HB Studios Modeling Test
So, new and exciting things. Got a call from the good folks at HB Studios in Halifax. After I regained consciousness, they assigned me a modeling test; and I spent the next five days working on what you see below. It was a lot of fun, and an interesting challenge.
Unrelated; I feel humanity has put too little time into developing jet boots. This gross misallocation of resources will be corrected when I rule the world.

On closer inspection, this video quality is somewhat lacking. Why, it is nowhere near maximum resplendancy. Shameful. Well, youtube seems not to have mucked things up; if you want to see a less shamefully pixelated version: www.youtube.com/user/thealexhicks.
On the other hand, if you are a potential employer who happens to like pixelated videos, you may disregard the previous paragraph and watch the delightfully splodgey video below. Enjoy!

Your eyes can't repel a demo reel of that magnitude!
For those of you who haven't already seen it: (but honestly, shame on you.) My demo reel; in all its awe-inspiring resplendency.
If for whatever reason the video won't play, through the magic of the internet you can also find it on youtube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEhqURhWTos.
